Synopsis
The protagonist, Alex, is struggling at work and at home, feeling stuck in life. One day, he meets a mysterious boy named Said in a park in the town where he used to live.
Said has a blank book called the “Book of Sages” and is on a journey to visit wise men around the world, record their teachings, and become a wise man himself. As Alex travels with him, he begins to reexamine his own life through the teachings of the nine wise men.
Each of the nine wise men Said meets has a different philosophy of life, and they bestow upon Said “a piece of life.”
Their teachings cover deep, universal themes such as “what is success?”, “the meaning of action,” “respect for others,” and “the power of gratitude.”
By reliving the boy’s journey, Alex begins to realize the meaning and potential of his own life.

This book is filled with important messages for life.
・”The results of actions are neither success nor failure; they are merely puzzle pieces that complete the picture of life.”
・”People can be reborn as many times as they like.”
・”True growth comes from acting for the happiness of others, not your own.”
This book is more of a self-help book than a novel.
