Synopsis
- The protagonist is a 30-year-old postman who loves movies and lives with his cat.
- One day, he is diagnosed with a brain tumor and told he has only a short time left to live. Returning home in despair, he is confronted by a “devil” who looks just like him.
- The devil offers to extend his life by one day in exchange for erasing something from the world.
- The protagonist accepts the deal, and one by one, objects disappear from the world: telephones, movies, watches…
- The final question is: “Should I erase my cat?” – the most precious thing to him.
Review
- The importance of things is something we only realize once we lose them.
No matter what environment we find ourselves in, we eventually become accustomed to it.
The emotions we feel when we buy and use something tend to fade over time.
People, objects, money, and all sorts of things become so natural that we stop thinking about them.
However, it’s often only when we lose these things that we realize their profound importance.
Nothing is permanent.
I felt the need to realize what is important before we lose it.
