Review
This is a collection of short stories depicting various families.
What is a family?
It’s a relationship in which we share the most personal details, but it also doesn’t mean we communicate the most deeply, nor do we understand each other the most.
And yet, we still sleep and wake up in the same house.
When I think about it, it’s a strange relationship.
I particularly found the story of a man who saw his workaholic father at work for the first time.
I feel like similar situations exist all over Japan.
I felt that family should be a relationship in which we can share not only domestic matters, but also various other things. I know this, but it’s not that easy. It shouldn’t be difficult, but it’s precisely because we’re family that we sometimes distance ourselves from that relationship.
Reading the various episodes in this book makes me want to cherish my family more.
Reading this novel during busy days might be a good opportunity to reexamine your relationships with your family.
